"the threat has been neutralized"....

"Mrs. Kelley, this is Mr. B, principal of _____ Middle School." " We Have had an incident. I first want you to know that Alex has been examined and is ok" "..........in the art room this morning..." "....attacked..." ".......upon close investigation..." ".... isolated incident" "......professionals......" ".... threat has been neutralized" ".....must have come in over the weekend......" "...... instructional assistant shaken up.... Alex has remained calm throughout the ordeal"..............

the rest of the story:

"Alex was examined by the nurse and he is ok."

"The kids were in the art room this morning when Alex went in to retrieve his work. He picked up his work from the floor when a rat (not a mouse, a RAT) jumped up and attacked him. It didn't bite him, and Alex says it didn't come into contact with his skin."

"The nurse has thoroughly examined Alex and he is fine."

"We immediately called in professionals and upon close investigation we do believe this is an isolated incident." "The professionals were here all morning and the threat has been neutralized."
"We believe the Rat (yes, RAT!) must have come in over the weekend when there were a lot of sporting events going on."

"Alex is ok, my instructional assistant was shaken up quite a bit, but Alex has been suprisingly calm through the whole ordeal."

Mr. B. then put Alex on the phone to talk to me. I tried to talk to him, but I couldn't talk with all that laughter in my mouth!!
