airing my dirty laundry...

In 13 years, when I will most likely be an empty nester, and I will be crying because all my babies are gone, I will need something to cheer me up, and this post should do the trick..

Dear self,

Back in the winter of 2009, your washing machine was broken, here is the accumulated laundry for 6 days (not including throw rugs, linens and the occassional comforter!)

Sincerely,

Me

Many years ago, when I was working part time at UMD, caring for only 3children, and racing to Arlington to help my mother who was dying, my washing machine broke. That's all I needed to open the flood gates. It seems so stupid now, but I know how I felt without a washer for a few days, and your family is much bigger than mine is, so does that mean you'll be getting a new washer from Santa?

Santa is not bringing a new machine (this one is 3 years old), he is bringing the part to repair it, though. I don't like having a broken machine, but the laundry mat is 10 minutes away, 3 hours later I have 26 clean loads of laundry. thats right, I said 26! (I washed hockey gear and muddy winter coats)

That doesn't look like 26 loads. I thought you would have more. Maybe it is the trash bags that are confusing me. It sounds like heaven to sit in a laundry mat all day and read...lets trade for a day or two!

That is a lot of loads...Our washer made a weird noise the other day so we thought it was broken. It turned out that the water was just temporarily off. Whew!!
How long till the part gets put in?

It arrived on friday and I have been working on it, but it has taken awhile, and this has been one of those super busy weeks, so whenever I have time to finish it we will be up and running.

It's impressive that you are a mom and a washing machine repair woman!
