Mystery Solved!

I am anxiously waiting to get my copy of a book about my Great-Grandfather, Perley Edwin Swett. I have heard many stories about him over the years, and he seems like quite an interesting character. A man who chose to live as a hermit, isolated and separated from the world in a Thoreau like self exile, except my grandpa apparently had completely different reasons than Thoreau for his isolation. (I can't wait to read more about that) He was a well known poet in the region. I know he dug his own grave, literally and apparently stashed cash in his phone. (Ironic since he and the phone company had an ongoing dispute.) ... as I was reading summaries and looking at photos online, I noticed something about him....a mystery that I had been wondering about for years...

The question for me has always been ..."Where did I get MY nose!?!?!?!"

My sister doesn't have it! (I have 5 sisters, ...none of them have my nose! Tracey is close, but not quite) (Hi Dana!!)

My mom doesn't quite have it.....(thats me as a baby)

My dad doesn't have it....so where the heck did it come from?!?!?!?!

There it is, on my GREAT GRANDPA!

Thanks Grandpa Swett, now I know!
*Footnote: my brother Matt has the same nose, but I didn't have any good shots of his

Amazing!Your Great-Grandpa sounds so interesting! I would read that book too. It's so cool to learn about our ancestors and see what traits we've inherited from them. :-)

I love the nose story. Although I think your mom's nose looks close

Well, I'm glad that you THINK you solved the mystery. But, your Grandpa's nose is about 5 times the size of yours! I think yours looks a lot like your moms and most of your siblings have always seemed to me to have the same nose. Maybe just as anorexics have a distorted body view, you have a distorted nose view! You are beautiful!

Tammy, Every now and then I 'google' Perley to see what comes up. It was fun to see your comments about my book. I would love to hear what you think of it after you read it (all those family 'secrets' revealed!)I have a facebook account if you want to keep in touch. Sheila
